Elizabeth Yi served as a Peace Corps volunteer in Bénin 1998-2000 in a rural community development and health education program after completing a bachelors degree from University of California, Berkeley. In Bénin, Zou Department, she worked alongside local community health staff in baby weight monitoring programs, health education, women’s development, and supporting girls’ education. After close of service, Elizabeth continued working abroad in international health programs; at the same time earning master’s degrees in public health and business administration. Since 2007 she has continued her public health career in southern California, where she is currently division administrator in the Division of Hematology/Oncology and the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center at University of California, Irvine.
