Michael Wanigasekera served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cambodia 2013 - 2015, and as an AmeriCorps VISTA Volunteer in Vermont from 2016 - 2017. As a Peace Corps Volunteer Michael taught English in grades 8 – 12 and trained local teachers. He helped complete numerous projects, including developing a school library and school garden, building a basketball court, and providing a clean water filter system for the school. As a VISTA volunteer Michael served in a before-and-after school program helping children from disadvantaged backgrounds. Currently he works in the information technology field and resides in Dallas, TX. He holds Bachelors and Master’s Degrees from the University of New Mexico.
