Erica Peery
Senior Coordinator for Information Systems, International Rescue Committee
Erica’s Peace Corps service (Senegal 2014-2016) inspired her to pursue the work and research she does today. While in service, Erica’s host brother made the difficult decision to leave his home and community because of climate change. His story had a lasting impact on her. Today, Erica works with the International Rescue Committee as a Senior Coordinator for Information Systems and takes great satisfaction in assisting staff in implementing data-driven programs and tracking client outcomes. As a Ph.D. student at the University of Maryland Baltimore County, Erica studies the impacts of climate change narrative on policy outcomes. Previously, she worked as a policy fellow for Save the Children Action Network. She also attained a Master’s in Public Policy and Public Management as a Shriver PeaceWorker fellow at UMBC.
